Welcome!

Welcome to Cedar Creek Cavaliers. We are located in the little Norwegian town of Poulsbo, WA , just a ferry ride from Seattle. We are delighted to share this wonderful breed with you as we feel that they are simply “The Best”!

Our emphasis is to breed cavaliers that represent the breed in type, beauty, temperament conformation and health. It is important that these attributes be given high priority as the future of Cavaliers depends on responsible informed breeding. We have been blessed with friends and mentors in the US and abroad who have guided us, shared their experience and continue to teach us. We can never stop learning and improving.

Cedar Creek Ima Gem receives honor of BEST IN SHOW Bred by Exhibitor Thank you Judges Breed Pamela Peat, Toy Group Alice Inman and Best in Show Judge Maxine Beam

How do you get a BEST IN SHOW?
First you have to compete in the regular classes within your own breed. If you are selected as Best of Breed you then get to advance to the next phase which is the “Group”. In the AKC, the groups are: Toy, Herding, Sporting, Working, Non Sporting, Hound, and Terrier. ”. Each breed of dog belongs to a certain group; Cavaliers are in the Toy group. In the Toy Group you compete against all the winners of all the Toy breeds. If you win the Group you then advance to compete in the Best in Show. The winners of each group then represent their group for the BIS (Best in Show) competition. The winner of this receives the coveted award of Best in Show. Bred by Exhibitor is a special class. It works just the same as the regular Best in Show except for one major difference. The dog shown has to be Bred, Shown and Owned by the Handler. It is a testament of the quality of the dogs you are breeding which is recognized by different judges throughout the show. We are very proud of our home grown girl and her accomplishments and hope it is the beginning of more to come.
